Shimano makes high quality reels and pretty much leads the way when it comes to innovative technologies. This particular model features a proprietary braking system that the manufacturer calls the SVS Infinity. Apart from the impressive sounding name, what it means is that this brake is able to be tuned in extremely small increments using a small knob on the reel body.

CT stands for compact tatula. A remodel of the original but is more compact and ergonomic. Made from a new aluminum frame which is stronger, more durable, and lighter weighing only 7.2oz (approximately half an ounce lighter than the original). The Type R is a suped-up version of the Tatula CT. It comes with an additional 2 CRBB bearings, and a lighter spool making it lighter than the CT.

Daiwa has 3 low profile reels under the Tatula series (Type-HD, Type-R & Tatula base). For this guide, I’m breaking down the Tatula base reel, which funny enough is also broken down into 3 models (100P, 100H & 100HS), I know confusing right? No worries, just know that the 3 reels have similar components but do have additional features with the most expensive models. But let’s talk about the Tatula because it’s #1 on this guide for good reasons!

With a pro-caliber performance and reasonable price-tag, the Daiwa Tatula CT Type-R Baitcast Reel is a great all-rounder for freshwater angling. It features an ergonomic low profile design, as well as a rugged gear train protected by a super lightweight aluminum frame and side plate. Highlights include the Magforce Z Cast Control System and a hybrid levelwind equipped with Daiwa’s signature T-Wing aperture. The former allows for pinpoint accuracy across a wide range of different lures.
Personally I use a spinning reel when casting for species such as pike and asp, fishing for perch and fishing vertical. When I would be trolling for pike with larger lures, I switch to the baitcaster. When setting it in a rod rest I use a longer, more flexible rod and when keeping the rod in hands, I prefer a shorter, somewhat stiffer baitcaster rod. It is purely a matter of personal taste because I believe a traditional rod and spinning reel won’t catch less.
This is a fitting example of a consistent quality reel across the board for a reasonable price. The lightweight (yet tough) aluminum body and side plate will hold up against a lot of abuse. The Tatula has an interesting rotor (side component that works in parallel with the spool) in which mimics the spool with holes drilled/cut out for a lighter and more air dynamic component. Daiwa’s fancy name for it Air Rotor system.
Weight at 7.3 oz. is consistent with the higher end reels, so it feels like you’re holding a higher end reel. The line capacity is a little lower (110 yards of 12 lb monofilament line) than the other reels but certainly not a not a deal breaker. The line retrieval is 26.8 inches per crank, which is certainly on the high end when comparing against the other reels in this/higher classes.
Those 10 double shielded ball bearings system prevents any corrode from forming and Zero-reverse one-way stainless steel clutch bearing grants you instant t fish stopping power. Lews very own iconic custom soft-touch paddle handle knobs let you fish for longer. You can literally hear the click once you use that graphite smooth star drag brake system. Zirconia line guide to keep our line aligned once you cast and retrieve the line.

The Ardent Apex Elite Fishing Reel is one type baitcasting reel with great and exciting features. It features a high strength aluminum frame; carbon fiver swept back handle with EVA grips and externally adjustable 270-degree magnetic brake system. It has the dimension of 4 x 4 x 3 inches and weighs 6.1 ounces. It comes with both the left- and right-hand retrieve and available in 6.5:1 and 7.3:1 gear ratios.
With its D2 Gear design and fuel-efficient X-Craftic amalgam contour. The reel offers sufficient equipment quality and toughness to withstand even the most stringent conditions. With its carbon matrix braking system, this bait-casting reel provides luxurious air drag throughout the entire length of the train. So you get the precision and power you need to choke hard-pulling fish.
The brake is located on the left side of your reel (always on the opposite side of where your reel handle is placed). The purpose of the brake is to slow down your spool when releasing line in the casting situation. When tuned correctly, your brake will keep your spool from spinning at a greater rate than your bait is traveling, minimizing the risk of getting backlashes.
Along with the Abu Garcia reels, the Shimano Curada has been producing reels for years starting with the 100 and 200 back in 1992 and has withstood the test of time. With a 7.2:1 high gear ratio and 5 S ARB bearings, this thing is as smooth as it can get. The ball bearings are corrosive resistant, so you will never have to worry about replacing them. Coming in at a lightweight 7.4 ounces, this thing is super light. Don't let that fool you though, it can cast like nobody's business, even in the highest of winds! All these features combined allows you to control this baitcaster on every aspect, minimizing the risk for a backlash. It also comes in the LH version for all you left handed baitcaster folks.
Some of the features built into the Abu Garcia Revo SX include an efficient D2 gear design, a power knob that gives you greater torque when hand-pulling fish, a smooth drag thanks to its Carbon Matrix drag system and Magtrax brake system to help cast heavy loads more accurately. All packaged together with a titanium-coated line guide that increases this reel’s durability.
You will get different gear ratios between 6.3 and 8.1 to 1. On the lower end, those are very moderate but the high-end reels are blazing fast. Best fished on a medium to slower action rod, these are a powerhouse reel more designed to get fish to the boat rather than play them on the line. Not great for large cats and hard fighters but will nail bass and smaller fish every time.
Breaking on the reel is Diawa’s own Magforce-Z which combines traditional breaking with the smooth power of a magnetic system. This is one of the easiest to control breaks out there for those who are new to baitcasting. It does wonders to improve your cast and can get good distance with good results. Coupled with their TWS level winder system, they promise at least 5% gain over other reels.
Hold the reel properly. Grip the rod behind the reel with your thumb resting over the reel spool. Baitcasting rods are designed the same as spincasting rods, and as with spincasting rods, most fishermen cast with the same hand they retrieve with, so if you prefer to hold the rod behind the reel when you retrieve, you'll need to switch hands when you cast.[3]

The Daiwa Zillion TWS baitcasting reel comes in 4 speeds: 9.1:1 Super Extra Hyper Speed, 7.3:1 Hyper Speed, 6.3:1 High Speed, and 5.5:1 Power Speed, and silly names aside we appreciate the selection and the many innovative details that Diawa has put into these reels. We checked out the TWS 7.3:1 and found that it had the quality and detailing that you expect from Daiwa.
As the name implies, the KastKing Rover Round Baitcasting Reel is claimed to be one of the best reels out there. This high-quality reel is employed by most anglers to cast the bait in the water during fishing times. One of the most interesting qualities of this reel is that it can be used in all types of water and suitable for bass fishing. On Amazon, the reel is rated number 1 and being boasted of by its manufacturer as to the fact that it is unparalleled.
Reputation: It’s no surprise that the Shimano Caenan series achieved 4.2 out of 5 stars. Angling community adored this classic compilation from Shimano. It may not offer an array of features and modern tweaks, but it performs well, and last a long time. Sometimes, simplicity outshines sophistication. I think budget anglers should get this best Shimano fishing reel.
This reel features a machined aluminum spool which is deep and can hold as heavy and lengthy as the possible line. Therefore, with this feature, you wouldn’t have to be bothered about not having enough line or space to hold them, especially when going out to get a large fish. Having an aluminum spool and drag system also makes this reel a good fit for fresh water fishing.
Drag system works as same as the brake on your car. In the absence of the drag, you will frequently experience line breakage when a fish is hooked and pulling it hard. Basically, the drag system lets the line spool turn backward under severe pressure. Nowadays, even the cheapest fishing reels offer adjustable drag system for you to determine the amount of pressure needed to take the line from the reel.
Being made with high-quality aluminum, the body and side plate is quite capable of providing high-quality performance. With the brass gears, your fishing is much powerful. For a powerful drag system, this baitcasting reel has carbon fiber drag system. Besides, it has EVA handle to provide a great grip. The maximum drag force of this Kastking baitcasting reel is 20 lbs.
For such a tough reel, it is surprisingly light weight at just over 13 ounces, and the InfiniMax adjustment system and 7 stainless steel pinion bearings lets the reel cast smooth and far with any size bait. This reel impressed us as the best-built baitcasting reel in our selection. For big fish and abusive conditions from saltwater to muddy catfish holes, the Abu Garcia Revo Toro Beast 60 is the top choice in a heavy-duty low-profile design and third overall in our review.

Reputation: KastKing stealth carbon review from users are actually good. With the score of 4.1 out of 5 stars, surely it marked a positive impression in the angling community. Since the reel consists of numerous features, a few of them may or may not malfunction. So in general, there is no inferior aspect of this reel in particular found in overall KastKing stealth review.
If you are a bait caster, there are several baitcasting reels on the market that you can choose from. As compared to other fishing reels, baitcasting reels are not easy to use, but they provide anglers with so many benefits. With just less than 100 bucks, you can be sure of getting quality baitcasting reels that will help you catch even the strongest fish.
The reel also spots 7 stainless steel bearings plus one roller bearing system that contribute to a smooth casting experience. Being made from stainless steel gives the reel an increased protection from corrosion. Besides, its drag system features power disc system that allows efficient and more fluid line retrieve throughout the entire drag range. This makes it easy and effortless to catch those hard pulling fish.
These are lightweight and compact reels coming in at 6.7oz. While lightweight they still offer some durability and ruggedness with aluminum alloy frames and carbon composite side plates. This gives you a very comfortable reel that makes casting all day a lot easier. There is plenty of cranking power available and the gear design and supporting structures allow it to function beautifully under duress of an aggressive fish.

I would prefer to fish a baitcaster all the time because I can cast it more accurately by controlling the spool with my thumb. The reels feature higher gear ratios than spinning models which I need for high-speed presentations such as waking a spinnerbait, buzzing a buzz bait across the surface or burning square-bill crankbaits in shallow cover. I also prefer a baitcaster for all of the power fishing techniques with heavy line such as pitching and flipping, Carolina rigging and slow-rolling spinnerbaits.
This reel can be summed up in one word, amazing. The KastKing brand is known for their amazing craftsmanship and long lasting durability. The Royale Legend baitcasting fishing reel is unmatched in almost every category. It’s fitted with an extremely silent 7.0:1 high speed line retrieve that just about every angler can appreciate. This reel comes fitted with state of the art dual brakes. These brakes can be quickly and easily tuned to every anglers specific needs not to mention the amazing casting control this provides. It features a brass structure that is precision cut accompanied with a carbon fiber drag system that delivers an astounding 17.5 pounds of drag. It helps you land even the hardest fighting fish. The 11+1 stainless steel ball bearings are corrosion resistant and allow for smooth casting and lifelong reliability. This baitcasting reel is perfect for any style of fishing, from flipping to pitching and anything in between. You’ll appreciate this flipping reel for years to come.
Lightweight drilled aluminum spool offers phenomenal line grip and Magforce magnetic system provide backlash-free control. The reel has the ability to fight resistant fish with its twin-system endless anti-reverse. For further smoother operation, Daiwa installed 5 stainless steel ball bearings and a single roller bearing. It just offers enough feature to perform optimally.
For a bait caster, there could be vast options of baitcasting reels out there. Compared to fishing reels, baitcasting reels aren’t that easy to use. However, they would offer anglers with numbers of significant benefits. The easiest way to get the line untangled is to put the reel in free spool and pull line out until you get to where the main line is buried into the line wrapping on the spool. You will most likely find a loose coil of line that creates a loop near the main line. Start working on freeing up the loose line coil first as this is usually the area where the line is buried into the spool. Once you get that coil unknotted, the main line will often be much easier to work free. When there are many loosened coils of line created multiple knots within the spool of line, it is often prudent to simply cut out the line and respool.

Intro: It’s been almost a century now the Abu Garcia(originally AB Urfabriken) is in the fishing business after the fishing enthusiastic son of the owner took charge. This famous brand originated in Sweden is now owned by Pure Fishing of the United States. ABU Garcia introduced a series of fishing reels and related products at the beginning of the 1950s.

This TATULA is more likely Black Bass and Pike fishing Purpose.  I personally use TATULA for Deep dive Crank bait,  Lipless Crank, Mid size Soft Shad lure, Blade shad, Rubber jig, Texas rig, Frog game etc...  I would say this TATULA is all around reel for French water purpose.  And This TATULA had 4 different gear ratio. So, You can choise it for differrent purpose.  I usellay use 5.4:1 for Super deep Crank bait, 6.3:1 for Crank bait and Spinnerbait, 7.3:1 for Soft shad lure and Texas rig and 8.1:1 for Heavy Texas and Frog game.
